Piedmont Center is proud to present a series of three lectures by the very talented artist Michael Stehr.  The first lecture will take place on Friday, October 26th at 6:30 pm, focusing on Michelangelo.

As Michael describes:

“Rome boasts a vast amount of artistic treasures.  Some say that it takes a lifetime to scratch the surface of what The Eternal City has to offer.  There are few that would dispute that Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel rank at the top of this list.  Widely regarded as the greatest artistic achievement in Western Culture, some regard the Sistine Ceiling as possibly the greatest human achievement, period.  Join us for an illustrated lecture where we will explore the miracle of the Sistine Chapel:  the lead up to the commission, the execution of the frescoes, and the stories told by Michelangelo’s brilliant figures.”

Anyone who has attended lectures by Michael, or been on an artistic, European, learning trip with him can attest to his skill as an educator and wonderful, passionate lecturer on these larger-than-life artists.

Tickets are $10; available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3639090 or at the door.  Light refreshments will be served.
