From our friend in Italy,

Cristiana Pegoraro

Dear Friends:
January 27 each year is International
Holocaust Remembrance Day.
I would like to share with you
my little contribution in music. May this video help all who view it to remember and learn from it.
We have a duty not to forget.
Hope must never die.

God bless you all, Cristiana

Oakland Salutes Madame Vice President: A Virtual Inaugural Ball & Hometown Celebration

Born in Oakland, Kamala D. Harris was sworn in
as the 49th Vice President of the United States on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The pandemic is keeping all of us from gathering in Washington, DC and other places, so Oakland Symphony produced a Virtual Inaugural Ball in order to celebrate this historic transition of power.

Curated by Oakland Symphony Conductor and Music Director Michael Morgan and hosted by Oakland Port Commissioner Michael Colbruno, Oakland Salutes is a free virtual event that includes a message from Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and features a collection of words and performances from members of the Oakland Arts Community. Our second exciting art exhibition started at the end of November and was a stunning collection of various types and many styles of printmaking. Due to Covid, we had to close the exhibition after the first weekend.

To take a virtual look at the exhibition, watch the walk-through video HERE,
then scroll down to “Exhibition Artwork” and find links to each individual work of art!

A few months ago, our musical friends at Chamber Music Society of San Francisco held their first-ever virtual fundraiser, an eight-hour extravaganza incorporating everything from a French cooking lesson to a fashion show, all infused with wonderful music!
