The Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble is a progressive jazz quintet that focuses on original arrangements of mainstream jazz with unique original compositions that have power and grace. With Tommy Kesecker on vibes, Steve Heckman on sax, Terrence Breweron guitar, Pat Klobas on bass, and David Rokeach on drums, the group is a rhythmically driven ensemble with dynamic contrast rarely experienced in a more traditionalsax/piano setting.

The individual band members are known for their unique talent and have backed such diverse artists as Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Zakir Hussain, Chita Rivera,Marcus Shelby, and Kristen Chenowith.

Klobas and Kesecker first met on a live recording date at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and later at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music during their musical studies. After school they headed in different directions but came together again to perform at the Gualala Arts Music Festival with the San Francisco Chamber Jazz Quartet. The exceptional energy from that concert was the inspiration that lead to the formation of the Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble.

The Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble currently has two CDs out, No Gravity and Moments.

Notice. The performance will feature guest artist Maxwell Nesbet, a bassist who has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory and is co-bassist with the SF Jazz Big Band.
