Paris comes to Piedmont on Valentine’s weekend!

SonoMusette performs the music of Edith Piaf

“A Paris Valentine”

Sunday, Feb. 16 at 4pm

SonoMusette, the wildly popular Bay Area band that performs authentic Parisian music from the 1950s, will return to Piedmont this Sunday, February 16, at 4 p.m. – just in time for Valentine’s weekend.

Featuring Paris-born singer Mimi Pirard, whose voice is a ringer for Edith Piaf, the five-member ensemble specializes in the music of Piaf, Jaques Brel, Charles Trenet and Django Reinhardt, easily and quickly transporting its audience to the music of Paris in the 1950s.

Pirard recaptures the sound and spirit of Piaf, who went from a child singing on the streets of Paris to becoming an international star. SonoMusette takes us back to mid-1900s of Paris through the evocative songs of the city, songs about the people, and stories of their lives and of the era. This is the Paris that still lives for many. Pirard's powerful and emotional interpretations of these classic songs provide a freshness and excitement that is faithful to the spirit and tradition of the original versions.

SonoMusette is comprised of  Robert Lunceford on accordion, Jan Martinelli on upright bass and piano, Isaac Vandeveer on guitar and bass, and Richard Andrews on drums.
Advance tickets are $22 ( see “buy tickets” link above), or $30 at the door. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 4:00 p.m.
