May 25 at 4pm

On May 25 the San Francisco Mandolin Orchestra will perform a concert at the Piedmont Center for the Arts in a program of wind- and air-inspired works featuring three soloists:

•  Achille Bocus, the orchestra’s musical director, will be a mandolin soloist in Vivaldi’s “Spring” from The Four Seasons.

•  Siusan Pursey will be a flute soloist playing excerpts from Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2.

•  Sean Gugler will sing King Crimson’s “I Talk to the Wind,” accompanied by the orchestra.

“We decided it would be fun to augment our program of symphonic music – the music of Mozart, Rameau, and Resphighi – with works that highlight the skills of individuals connected to the orchestra,” said Bocus.

The afternoon concert, the fourth by the orchestra at PCA, is family-friendly. Admission is $20 general, $15 student/senior, and free for children 12 and under.  Tickets may be purchased (subject to availability) at the door, or at brown paper tickets: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4072005.
