Billie Holiday Project comes to Piedmont

Bay Area vocalist Stella Heath brings the Billie Holiday Project to the Piedmont Center for the Arts for its debut on Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. Backed by Neil Angelo Fontano, piano; Jason Bellenkes, tenor sax & clarinet; Trevor Kinsel, bass; and Spike Klein on drums, the concert will include Holiday's most recorded tunes, as well as lesser known songs from her early recordings and stories of her life and music.

Audience members will be brought back to the swinging Jazz clubs of the 1930's, evoking the intensity and intimacy Holiday made famous.

Evocative Bay Area songstress Stella Heath (French Oak Gypsy Band) fronts a stellar band of local musicians for a cabaret-style musical tribute to the life and art of the legendary singer.

Tiickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
