San Francisco Bay Area-based Duo Camaraderie, a flute and piano chamber ensemble, will perform a concert at the Piedmont Center for the Arts on Friday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. The artist Lara B. Haroupian will be exhibiting works at the Center, and attending the performance.


Performing for the first time at the Center will be flautist Laura Scarlata and pianist Sharon Lee Kim.

They will be joined by composer Jean Ahn and violist Ilana Matfis, who performed last November at the Center in a Berkeley Symphony & Friends concert.
The program includes Ballade for Flute, Viola and Piano by Charles Lefebvre, Sonata for Flute and Piano by Paul Hindemith, Toys by Jean Ahn (commissioned by Duo Camaraderie, and Trio for Flute, Viola, and Piano by Bohuslav Martinu.

About Duo Camaraderie:

Duo Camaraderie & Friends concerts feature a variety of outstanding guest artists each season, both instrumentalists and vocalists, as well as living composers.  Duo Camaraderie has been featured in several Bay Area concert series and venues including the Old First Concert Series, Trinity Chamber Series, Maybeck Recital Series, Crowden Music Center, San Francisco Conservatory, Center for New Music, and Faculty Chamber Series at Saint Mary’s College.
Their passion is to share classical chamber music with a wide variety of audiences of all ages in their communities. Duo Camaraderie is affiliated with the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music, a non-profit service program dedicated to the support and promotion of classical chamber music.
