Festival Opera presents Nuit d'Espagne

Renée Rapier & Robert Molicone in performance Jan. 12

Opening Festival Opera’s Artist Recital Series, mezzo-soprano Renée Rapier and pianist Robert Mollicone will present Nuit d’Espagne (Spanish Night), a recital of music and texts inspired by Spain on Sunday, January 12, at 5 p.m.

Both alumni of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program and an Adler Fellow, this powerhouse duo is well-known to Bay Area audiences. Rapier will return to Festival Opera next July to star in the title role of Bizet’s Carmen.

The program at the Piedmont Center for the Arts will include the music of Rossini, favorites from the French song repertoire, 7 Canciones Populares Españolas by De Falla, Spanish Songs, Op.100, by Shostakovich, and others.

Guests are invited to a complimentary wine reception with the artists immediately following the performance.

The Piedmont Center for the Arts is located at 801 Magnolia Avenue in Piedmont.
