Italy sends its finest – from Umbria to Piedmont
Italian pianist and composer Cristiana Pegoraro will perform her debut concert in Piedmont on March 23 following a recital at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Come for an exciting piano recital at the Piedmont Center for the Arts where she will perform her New York program -- her arrangements of Rossini's Overture to the Barber of Seville, Bizet's Carmen Fantasy, and tangos by Piazzolla, as well as her own compositions.

Hailed by The New York Times as “an artist of the highest caliber,” Pegoraro has performed on the most prestigious stages in Europe, the United States, South America, Asia, and Australia. She is the first Italian female pianist to perform classical concerts in Bahrain, Yemen, and Oman, as well as to perform all 32 piano sonatas by Beethoven.
Over the years, she has appeared in front of the highest world dignitaries, including the President of Italy, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, the Governor of New York, Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, the Italian Minister of Economic Development, and the President of the Austrian Senate.
Pegoraro’s piano artistry can be heard on 27 compact discs. Her latest CD, entitled “Astor Piazzolla Tangos”, received the Gold Medal at the prestigious Global Music Awards. In 2011, she founded and is Artistic Director of both the Narnia Arts Academy and Narnia Festival in her hometown of Narnia, Italy. The goal of both organizations is to promote the arts as well as the cultural, architectural, and historical heritage of Italy. The Academy and Festival received four President of Italy gold medals for outstanding programming.
