Jazz in the Neighborhood comes to the community of Piedmont with a series of vocalists at the Piedmont Center for the Arts. Concerts will be Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm.

In its next concert in Piedmont Jazz in the Neighborhood will present a concert featuring composer and pianist Tammy Hall with Ron Belcher on bass and Deszon Claiborne on drums.
“Tammy is one of the Northern California’s most sought-after accompanists, providing soulful support for many of the region’s best jazz and blues singers,” says jazz critic Andrew Gilbert.
A native of Texas, Hall began playing piano at age four, leading to her participation inboth regional and national recitals and competitions. She moved to the Bay Area in1979 to attend Mills College and gained improvisational and accompanying experience sitting in with local bands.
Following a two-year tour on the European festival circuit, Hall settled back in the BayArea, where she has performed with such artists as Connie Champagne, Mary Wilson,Debbe De Coudreaux, the Monclair Women’s Big Band, Houston Person, David Fathead Newman, Regina Carter, Jeremy Cohen, Mads Tolling, Marcus Shelby, Terrence Brewe, Kim Nalley, Denise Perrier, Pamela Rose, Linda Tillery and Holly Near.
Advance tickets are $20, and $25 at the door and $10 for students.
