Pianist Bolor Ayush will perform a concert, “From Chopin to Sharav,” at the Piedmont Center for the Arts on Saturday, January 25 at 6:00 p.m. The program includes works by French, Polish and Mongolian composers: Estampes by Claude Debussy, Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, Chopin’s Polonaise op. 53, Fantasia in C minor by Khishigtogtoh Altangerel, and Variations on a Folk Song by Zunduin Hangal. Ms. Ayush also will perform two works written in 1990 by Byambasuren Sharav, I Want to Go to the Bright Horizon, and a Mongolian jazz piece, White Capped

A native of Mongolia, she has charmed countries with her classical style and talent.  She has performed in Poland, the Ukraine, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Mongolia and the U.S. Performance venues have included the European Union Inaugural Concert at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland, and the Yamaha Music Festival Inaugural Concert in the Duke Anton Radzwill Palace in Antonin, Poland. 

Under the tutelage of National Artist of Mongolia, Erdenechimeg Gonchigsumlaa, Bolor has gained knowledge and technical expertise studying with Andrzej Jasinski of Poland, Anna Barutti of Italy, Victor Mierzanov of Russia and Regina Smendzianka of the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Poland.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts in Piano Performance from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music, as well as a Professional Studies Diploma in Piano Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. 

She is a laureate of International Piano Competitions, International Chamber Music Competition and is a holder of scholarships including George Soros Foundation, Sergey Barsukov Foundation and Mongolian Government Scholarship. Bolor is a member of the American College of Musicians, the Music Teachers Association of California and the Contra Costa Performing Arts Society.  

She formerly taught at the Kolberg Music School in Radom, Poland, and at the Avloni Music Academy, and was an assistant to Professor Sharon Mann at the SF Conservatory of Music She is a founder and director of Sonor Music School in Lafayette.
