Piedmont High School is home to a wide variety of chartered clubs and extra-curricular activities. Add to that list a new PHS Art Jam Club, led by sophomores Natalie Jeng, Brooke Hendershott, and Saira Brown.

Founded last September, the club has 12 members and has big events planned for the future.

The most significant is its inaugural student art exhibit at the Piedmont Center for the Arts, from March 30–April 2.

Students can contribute any kind of art to the exhibit provided it is school-appropriate. Contributing artists will be able to sell their art at the event, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Art Jam Club, 10 percent as a donation to the Center for the Arts, and the rest to the artists.

EXHIBIT SCHEDULE

Thursday, March 30, 4:30–7:30 p.m.

Friday, March 31, 3:00–6:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 1, 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 2, 12:00–3:00 p.m.

The Art Jam Club recently helped paint stage sets for the Piedmont Center Theatre’s production of Good People.

“We’re so grateful for this rare opportunity for high school students to exhibit their art ina professional gallery,” said Jeng of the upcoming exhibit at the Center for the Arts.

Students interested in joining the Art Jam Club can attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays after school in the PHS Art Room.
