Danny Coots, Brian Holland in Ragtime Concert

As part of its fall program celebrating the 4th anniversary of the Piedmont Center for the Arts, the public is invited to attend a special concert with world-class musicians.
On Sunday, August 23, the Center will welcome pianist Brian Holland and legendary drummer Danny Coots for and evening of jazz, ragtime and show tunes.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per and are available at the door. The ticket price includes wine.

Brian Holland, Piano
Brian Holland has performed ragtime, jazz and stride piano for over 30 years. He is a World Old-time Piano Playing Champion, winning his third title at 27 and earning
a Grammy nomination for his work. He performs regularly with Bud Dresser in Dallas and Fort Worth. He has performed in Switzerland and Africa, and will be playing a series of concerts with Danny Coots at the Buenos Aires Ragtime Encounter this Fall.

Danny Coots, Drums
Danny Coots has taught at St. Lawrence, Clarkson University and Potsdam State University while traveling and performing with David Amram, Ray Shiner, Daniel Pinkham, Herb Ellis, Will Alger, Jack Mayhue, Speigle Wilcox, Mimi Hines, Phil Ford, Bob Darch, Pearl Kaufman and Spitznagel Arthur Duncan.
Now a Nashville resident, he played in the Jack Daniel’s Silver Cornet Band and helped to found the Titan Hot Seven. He has recorded extensively in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles and has performing appeared in over 90 countries. He has played on over 70 recordings, winning a Grammy in 2005.
