Artist Reception Saturday, September 15, 6-9 pm with a performance by Voci Women’s Vocal Ensemble at 7:00 pm.  All are welcome.

My work, which combines painting, drawing and collage, examines the mysteries of the psyche, both its hazards and its fervent idealizations.  I populate my pieces with  archetypical characters and props drawn from my culture and my own memories, reproducing and patterning them into broader, nearly abstract structures.  Through these associations, I explore the difficult passage into maturity and greater self-understanding.  Despite the collective weight of these preoccupations, a sense of fun overtakes my working process and brings levity and humor into the finished artworks.
